• सिलिकॉन हे पिकांना आवश्यक असलेले 17 वे महत्वाचे अन्नद्रव्य आहे. प्रकाशसंश्लेषण क्रियेमद्धे तसेच वनस्पतीच्या सर्व भागांमध्ये अन्न पोहचविण्याच्या क्रियेत सिलिकॉनची महत्वाची भूमिका असते. 
• ओ सील च्या वापरामुळे, पिकांवरील रोग किडींना देखील आळा बसतो. पानांच्या शिरा व खोडे मजबूत होतात त्यामुळे वाऱ्यापासून पिकांचे नुकसान होत नाही. 
• द्राक्ष, डाळिंब, भाजीपाला या अतिसंवेदनशील पिकांमध्ये दर १० ते १२ दिवसांनी ओ- सीलची फवारणी केली असता पिकांवरती रोग व किडींचा प्रादुर्भाव कमी झालेला दिसतो.
• ओ- सीलच्या वापरामुळे फळांमध्ये पाण्याचे संतुलन राखले जाऊन फळाची प्रत सुधारते व टिकवणक्षमता वाढते, फळांना चकाकी येते.
